Rain Music

Rain is the artist today. Painting in shades of soft green and grey.

Steady tapping rhythm of millions of tiny drops dripping down through the leaves of a forest.
Softer and lighter sounds, rain carried on the wind in an open field of long grass.

Expanding dimples in the puddles.

Wedding (blue)bells

Collecting flowers for a dear friend's wedding on mid-summer's day. Bluebells, Primroses and Daisies are her favourites. Bluebells that glow under old trees. Primroses, the first flowers of Spring. And Daisies that little girls (and some not so little) make daisy chains out of.

Add some whispering Oak leaves and acorns. All gathered together for a wedding bouquet.

Dreaming on a sunny Spanish island

Holiday sounds. Waves tumbling on the shore. Wind moving through the palm tree leaves. Scents of hisbiscus flowers and sea soaked breeze.

Elevenses on a sunny Spanish island

Croissant, café con leche every morning surrounded by bougainvillea and hisbiscus. Every morning the hisbiscus opening more and more to the sun.

Breakfast on a sunny Spanish Island

Pieces of strawberry in creamy yogurt, bits of orange in juice. Papery petals, by the name of bougainvillea, saturated colours of cerise, violet, orange, scarlet.

No need to have the radio on

No need to have the radio on by Caitriona Sweeney

The best music these days is to be heard outside my window. Imagine not being able to hear the birds chirping - what would those Spring sounds look like?

Appeared from nowhere

This afternoon I was painting. I took a tea break and when I came back, these cherry blossom petals had landed on my desk.
